Marty Broda aka Spirit Stick Woman, creates handcrafted Gaia Sticks embellished with shells, feathers, fur, shell and other natural material. Each is unique, symbolic of life's challenge, hopes, good luck. Many hang as art and make unique gifts. Her work can be seen at her Synchronia studio and at NC festivals, fairs and markets. Norma Hawthorne is a fibre artist who creates original scarves and wraps that are free-flowing accessories perfect for adding just the right accent to daily dressing. This studio opening features airy silks, linens, cottons and rayons that are often hand-woven and/or dyed. Hawthorne studied fine art and design at California State University at Northridge and continued to create textile art while living in San Francisco. Her work can also be seen at Gallery 18 in Pittsboro or by appointment. Laura Klein started Totally Wired after she moved to Franklin, NC from Taos, New Mexico.
