" Summer Night"
|
Moonlight
gently cascading down,
Leaves glowing under its touch,
Softly swaying in the night.
Trees stand as silent guardians
Watching over sleeping animals.
Moths flutter about in search of radiance
As fireflies perform an illuminating dance.
Grass quietly rustles as
The warm breeze caresses it.

Investing in a Community Asset!
This past Monday we held our initial investor's meeting at the store.
Both Pittsboro residents, and individuals
from as far away as Pinehurst, got an opportunity to meet with the
owners and discuss the improvements we are hoping to bring to the store
in the near future.
If you have visited us in the last few months, you may have experienced
some considerable waiting times during our most busy hours. By making
these capital investments we hope to improve the speed by which we
can serve everyone (and making both staff and customers happier).
Over the past several months the store has grown very fast and has
nearly tripled its sales volume, but we are now at a stage where some
additional investments are necessary to ensure the long term viability
and stability of our beloved store.
If have questions about investing in the store,
please feel free to contact us at info@thegeneralstorecafe.com
.

Christiana's Old Fashioned Double Goat's Milk Soap made
from the finest old Swiss Recipes!
You won't find a better quality of soap than Christiana's goat milk
soap, made with olive oil, vitamine E, and an an essential oil like peppermint,
lemon, sage, or bay leaf. She even has a soap made especially for arthritic
pain. Local goat farmer, Christiana Herndon's love of goats began as
a little girl growing up in Switzerland. When she came to the United
States, and bought land with her husband in Chatham County, she found
instant comfort from her homesickness with the adoption of a nanny goat
who soon had two kids. Christiana now has 12 Toggenburg milking goats,
a Swiss dariy breed. Her petting zoo what she calls, The Goatsy Galore
Snuggery, can be visited by appointment. She can be contacted at 545-9694
or by email at jarachristiana@mindspring.com
Christiana's soaps can be used as homeopathic remedies. She has a soap
that contains glucosamine sulfate, ginger, rosemary, emu oil, and vitamin
E for the one who has over 40 aches and pains! As a child, she was only
treated with homeopathic remedies. The first time she took an aspirin
was at age 18, and she felt how differently her body responded to this
kind of treatment: it made her numb. In addition to her goat milk soaps,
Christiana knows and sells essential oils and herbal remedies. Her soaps
will make you feel good, make great gifts, and are for sale at the General
Store Cafe. Look for the painted red kitchen hutch which contains all
her soaps!

Meet... Tabheta
Tabetha is a sweet, young adult cat. At a little over a year old,
she has remained a delicate little girl, with beautiful golden highlights
intermixed with gray tabby stripes and an adorable gold tipped tail.
She is very laid back and easily adjusts to new situations. She is
independent and would be fine if left alone during the day. However,
she really appreciates and welcomes a warm hand to rub against and
kind voice calling her name. Tabetha loves to play with peacock feathers,
scampering and pouncing on them with glee, as they are dragged in front
of her. She is not fond of dogs but enjoys the company of other cats.
For adoption, contact C.A.R.E. at www.chathamanimalrescue.org or
542-5757.
Chatham Shelter Spotlight (on behalf of the Chatham
County Animal Shelter)
Featuring... Archie and
Edith
Aren’t they yummy! These tiny kittens are just two months old,
and as sweet as can be. They are among the many cats and dogs at
the Chatham County Animal Shelter who urgently need homes. For adoption,
visit CCAS on Landfill Rd. off 64 West. Open Mon.-Fri., 9am-4pm,
and Sat 10 am-2 pm. For more information, call 542-7203.
